When constructed in the late
1980’s, this showcase facility served as the
corporate headquarters and main distribution center
for Gantos, a nationwide retailer of high-fashion
women’s apparel.
The office portion features a
dramatic 3-story lobby and reception area which led
to a mixture of both private and open offices, a full-service
cafeteria and an employee day care center. There are
marble floors and walls throughout, and an elaborate
system of balconies and stairs, defined by attractive
railings. Finely-finished hardwood doors and trim
were used throughout.
The distribution center, now used for manufacturing and testing, was designed
with internal mezzanine storage incorporating a custom-designed
conveyor system for storing, sorting and distribution, with multiple insulated truck doors for
receiving and shipping. A special distribution center
HVAC system provided critical climate control. |
