Richwood Industries needed to convert a large retail space into a highly efficient manufacturing and distribution facility. The building that once housed a K-Mart store would be transformed into a key facility for Richwood. This building had to combine handsome office spaces meant to impress clients, with practical storage, shipping and manufacturing areas. Old interior walls, mechanical and electrical systems were stripped away, leaving the shell of the building. Overhead door openings and other penetrations were created. A metal clad canopy would enclose 10,000 feet of office space. The interior was totally rebuilt. Glass walls open the space to outside light. Offices are finished in luxurious cherry woodwork. No one would guess that this was a place filled with shopping carts and blue-light specials.
